Hey everyone,
So I started reading Matched a few nights ago and so far i'm a little bit of the way through but I don't have it to hand so can't tell you exactly what page I am on. So far I think I like it, but again not 100% sure on it like I am with The Hunger Games. If i've not posted the Hunger Games review then you are probably confused right now...
8/3/2012 - Chapter 15, Page 168
So i'm quite a bit of the way through this book now and am really starting to enjoy it. I love how Cassia is clearly like Ky even though she is Matched with Xander. Xander has been her best friend for years but now she seems to like Ky since it's defying what the society dictates. The whole society dictates everything which is an interesting theory, the fact that everyone dies at 80 is scary though but anyway i'm off to read some more
11/3/2012 - Chapter 28, Page 312
I'm really starting to enjoy this book, the story is good and I love the idea of a love triangle between Cassia, Xander and Ky. Ky seems to be the risk since he is not allowed to marry anyone because he is an Aberration and although we are not sure why it has something to do with his mother and father who were killed. I'm enjoying the unraveling of the story of Ky's parents and how he ended up living with his Aunt and Uncle. I've also just discovered at the part that i'm at that the elders only die when they reach 80 because the society poison their last meal and that Ky isn't expected to make it to 80 because of the place he works in. In the book i'm up to where Cassia is telling Xander about her feelings for Ky which is a very tense moment as we don't know exactly how he will react to the news...
Done!!!
I must say I really got into this book especially towards the end although i'm not sure if I am going to rush out and buy the sequel. I think it might have to wait since I have many more books that I want to read first. Since i'm a sucker for a love story this book really appealed to me although was not my favourite love story book that i've read recently...
Anyway it was Ok but not worth getting extremely excited over

Book Review - Lenobia's Vow...✰✰
Hey so after I finished reading Matched yesterday I made a start on this book and as expected it didn't last long since it was only about 147 pages or so. Anyway I thought this was a nice little book to add to the collection and explains some of the stuff that the main novels don't. Basically, like Dragon's Oath it is another novella to accompany the House of Night series and as you can probably guess from the name it is all about Lenobia who is the horse mistress in the House of Night.
The story is all about her being 15 or 16 years old and she is traveling to New Orleans from France to her new life. However, on her journey she encounters an evil bishop and meets an amazing man who she falls in love with.
The story is all about her journey on the ship to New Orleans which takes around 8 weeks, this novella, like Dragon's Oath is all about just before they are marked and how her life takes a turning.
It was a nice addition to the collection and I really liked it and I even managed to read it in one sitting...

Book Review - The Hunger Games...✰✰✰✰
Hey everyone,
So the Hunger games featured in my last haul at the end of February and I just wanted to do a little update on it here:
*THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*
5/3/2012 - Chapter 7, Page 105
I'm honestly so sad to say it but the pace of this book is a little slow for me and to be honest i'm struggling. I'm not having that urge to just pick up this book and read it for a whole day and it's just not capturing my attention at all which is rather annoying. I was really looking forward to this book and after reading Divergent I had high expectations but i'm just not 100% sure about it yet. Hopefully over the next couple of days i'll get more time to read it and actually concentrate.
7/3/2012 - Chapter 21, Page 338
My opinion has totally changed of this book within a few days honestly it's getting so good now that they are actually competing in the games and it's getting to be a pretty good book. Katniss is trying her hardest to survive alone and keep away from the alliance formed between a group of the players who are all aiming to kill her. The whole story is moving a lot quicker now and i'm actually beginning to enjoy it. We shall see how it progresses but the way that it is going right now i'm planning on buying Catching Fire as soon as possible...
7/3/2012 - Done!
Ahh the end of this book is amazing! My opinion of it totally changed after I got through Part 1 since the dragging out of them preparing for the games really bored me but when they actually got into it the story was amazing. The characters are so good but from the start i'd always thought Katniss and Gale were made for each other and I had doubts about the Katniss and Peeta thing, I liked the similarities to Romeo and Juliet with the whole star crossed lovers angle and the way they planned to commit suicide. Katniss is by far my favourite character, she is strong willed and capable of taking care of herself while at times Peeta annoyed me somewhat. I am still unsure of whether I will go to see this in the cinema or just watch it online since i'm a bad girl...But either way I do want to see how they made the film and how similar or not it is to the book. It may also be a good thing that it's fresh in my mind and I can compare the two more easily.
Don't be too surprised if the next one appears in my March book haul either since i'm now hooked...

Book Review - Divergent...✰✰✰✰✰
I've decided to write a review as I go along with each of the books I review so I will mark each entry with the date and chapter and page number which I am on.
NOTE: **This review may contain spoilers**
29/02/2012 - Chapter 7, Page 61
Ok so I just got Divergent today and so far i've really been enjoying it, the concept of the factions is interesting and not something i've read about before. So far in the novel we have learned all about Tris and her life before she sat the test and was deemed Divergent up until her choice at the choosing ceremony and am currently a little way into the initiation process but not very far. So far i'm enjoying it and I struggled to put it down to write up this blog.
1/3/2012 - 12am - Chapter 15, Page 175
Ahh this book is far too good i'm actually writing stuff down as I read so that I can blog about it so far i've got quite far, Tris is finding out where she will live for the rest of her life, well as long as she makes it through initiation, and meets some of the leaders of the faction named Four and Eric (when I read the name Eric of course I pictured a 6'4 blond haired and blue eyed man from Sweden) who knows where I got that idea from...But as I read on the only thing similar between this Eric and Eric Northman is their bad boy attitude. I'm really shipping Four and Tris right now since he seems the nicer of the leaders and I definitely sense a spark between them. I also learned the factions and their "qualities" so to speak: Erudite (Intelligent), Amity (Peaceful), Dauntless (Brave), Candor (Honest) and Abnegation (Selfless). Anyway within her new faction Tris is forced to fight others in order to rank higher than them and to remain in the faction and avoid becoming a nameless and faceless streetwalker who is essentially factionless. A fate worse than death in their eyes.
2/3/2012 - DONE
I never thought i'd finish a near 500 page book in 3 days but that's exactly what I just did. Facebook has been bombed out as has everything else in my life apart from this book. The story was amazing I absolutely loved it! I am so excited about this book it is unreal, the plot, the characters and the concept of the future world is so intense that I struggled to put this book down at all. Ahhh can't wait for the next book i'm so happy with this book but so sad for it ending. Too many emotions over a book it's crazy...
Anyway I recommend this book to anyone and everyone...it's something unusual but really interesting and I fell in love with it...the whole story left me wanting more and has been driving me crazy because it is so good.
Can't say enough good things about this book!!!

February Book Haul...
Hey Everyone,
I am seriously hoping that I can make my book hauls a regular thing especially now that I have a job again and can afford to buy books. This month i've bought 4 books and with each one i'll put whatever is in the blurb underneath and then at various times throughout the month I plan on reviewing each of the books, especially the ones i've really enjoyed.
1. The first book which I purchased and received yesterday is Divergent by Veronica Roth.
This picture does not do the cover justice and even though they say not to judge a book by it's cover the cover of this book is beautiful. It has a holographic effect which is so pretty. I got this through Amazon for £6.09 which is a pretty good deal since it says £9.99 on the back, there are 485 pages in the book and the writing is a decent size, not too small and not too big. The back of the book reads:
One choice decides your friends, defines your beliefs and determines your loyalties...Forever
When sixteen year old Tris makes her choice, she cannot foresee how drastically her life will change, or that the perfect society in which she lives is about to unfold into a dystopian world of electrifying decisions, stunning consequences, heartbreaking betrayals and unexpected romance.
I am really excited to read a book which is from a completely different genre than I am used to and look forward to getting into this book within the next few weeks.
2. The second book which is featuring in my February book haul although I only received it this morning is The Hunger Games, this is the book which I mentioned in a previous post that I am majorly excited about especially since the film is being released later in the year
This is the cover that I wanted rather than the original cover. I just prefer this one as it looks sleek and plain and I hope to get Catching Fire and Mockingjay in the same cover to look nice on my bookshelf. I know they say not to judge a book by it's cover and in this case it's very true. The cover is pretty plain and boring and if I happened to be in a shop I would probably pass it by. I'm so glad I heard about this book and I am very intrigued to read more. Size wise this book is 454 pages which isn't too bad and the writing is average sized. This cost me £5 from play.com.
May the odds be ever in your favour
Winning will make you famous
Losing means certain death
In a dark vision of the near future, twelve boys and twelve girls are forced to appear in a live TV show called the Hunger Games, there is only one rule: Kill or be killed.
When sixteen year old Katniss Everdeen steps forward to take her sister's place in the games, she sees it as a death sentence. But Katniss has been close to death before. For her, survival is second nature.
From what i've heard this book is truly amazing and having read the first chapter twice I can see that i'm not going to be able to put it down once I make a start on it.
3. The next book which I bought and also arrived today is Matched by Ally Condie which is the third novel which i've bought which is set in the future, this one however will probably have more romance than the others and since that's usually the genre that I go for i'm looking forward to mixing it with a futuristic twist
This is going to be an interesting one and another which i'm really looking forward to reading. This book has 366 pages which is smaller than the other two and again the writing is average sized compared to other books, this cost me £4.49 from waterstones.comOn her seventeenth birthday Cassia meets her match. Society dictates he is her perfect partner for life.
Except he's not
In Cassia's society, officials decide who people love.
How many children they have.
Where they work.
When they die.
But, as Cassia finds herself falling in love with another boy, she is determined to make some choices of her own.
And that's when her whole world starts to unravel...
The whole concept sounds really interesting and is not like the usual love story that I go for, i'm still unsure which order I want to read these 4 in and whether I want to read 2 at a time. I've made a start on Divergent and don't really want to start on anything I might confuse it with so the next book might be the perfect choice.
4. The final book in this haul is Lenobia's Vow, I read every House of Night novel and I recently read Dragon's Oath but out of all of the professors Lenobia has always been my favourite and i'd always wondered what her story was...
So I decided that I could spare a mere £3.49 for this book and hopefully i'll manage to read this one just as quickly as the last one and put up another review. This book has only a mere 147 pages which is tiny.
Before becoming Zoey's favourite professor and the House of Night's powerful horse mistress, Lenobia was just a normal 16 year old girl - but with enough problems to last a lifetime.
In 1788, Lenobia's mother placed her on a ship bound for New Orleans. An evil bishop, skilled in dark magic, is making the same journey. His appetite for beautiful young women forces Lenobia to remain hidden, but she secretly visits the ships stables, where a handsome young man and his horses capture her attention.
Can they make it to the New World before the bishop discovers her true identity and a powerful evil breaks loose? And will Lenobia follow her heart, even if it puts lives at risk?
This could be a nice easy read in between some longer books and is definitely not something that needs a lot of concentration to understand. It should be a nice accompaniment to the other House of Night novels and might help me to understand Lenobia better...
Anyway I hope you all enjoyed this little book haul and stay tuned for a few book reviews in the near future...

Blog...Excitement and an off limits bank account...
Seriously!
I should not be allowed to have an Amazon.co.uk/Play.com/Waterstones.co.uk account for the good of my health (well actually my bank accounts health) because over this weekend i've managed to purchase at least one thing from all three of these online stores...2 from Waterstones...Be expecting an interesting Book Haul soon since all 4 of today's, and yesterdays, purchases were all books. It will be a February Book Haul at the beginning of March and throughout March I will attempt to write a little review on each of the books as I read them and let you all know what I think...
I have to tell you all that I am so so so excited about a certain series of books which i'm starting as soon as the first one gets here. I've heard nothing but good reviews about this book and i've just read the first chapter and so far i'm hooked although chapter 2 is not available online so I have to wait until next week until it gets here. Amazon's purchase got dispatched today but it's a pretty huge book so if the postman doesn't deliver it here i'll have to go to the post office and pick it up. The two from Waterstones I am unsure of how big they are, tell a lie one of them is tiny and will easily fit through the letter box. I'm not at college tomorrow morning or Tuesday morning and so if it comes tomorrow or the next day at least i'll be in and wont have to make the post office trip. Wednesday i'm not sure if i'll be in at all to be perfectly honest especially if I get all the work done and handed back in by Tuesday. Which means the end of the block and no assessments to study for so my plan of action is to sit down and read for pretty much the whole week...
See you all soon

Book Review - Dragon's Oath....✰✰
Hey everyone,
As I said yesterday I was struggling to read anything involving Vampires since i've kind of sickened myself of them but I decided to make a start on Dragon's Oath which is one of the novellas accompanying the House of Night novels. I realise that this is a vampire novel but I have a feeling it's just True Blood that i've sickened myself of since I read the first 2 so quickly over Christmas.
Anyway, I never really knew anything about Dragon's character, I found him difficult to understand within the House of Night novels and this book definitely clears things up, it is all focused on his life and how he becomes a vampire and meets Anastasia. I really enjoyed this book and even though it took me about 3 hours to read it was very well written. I was expecting it to be a bit boring but it was fast paced and I really enjoyed reading it.
I am now off to order Lenobia's Vow on amazon so that I can read that too and am really looking forward to Neferet's Curse which should be out later in the year and the next installment of the series is due out soon too.
Only wrote a tiny blog on this because I didn't want to spoil anything about the book by blurting it out on here.
